Robust In-Car Voice Control with New Smart Microphone from Li Creative Technologies
Li Creative Technologies has developed a smart microphone solution for robust voice capture in a noisy car environment.
Florham Park, NJ (1/24/2013) -

Li Creative Technologies (LcT) has developed a smart microphone solution for robust voice capture in a noisy car environment.

The solution, CrispMic-ASR, cancels car radio sounds and reduces engine, air conditioning, wind, and road noise while enhancing the user's voice. Consequently, the user can still control entertainment, navigation, and other automotive functions through voice command without having to mute the radio or eliminate other car noises.

The CrispMic-ASR uses next-generation smart microphone technology, including microphone array, sound source localization, beam forming, noise reduction, and noise cancellation, to support speech recognition in noisy car environments. In performance evaluations with commercially available speech recognition software, the microphone enabled more than 90 percent accuracy in noisy scenarios where speech recognition has been unusable, including in a moving vehicle with the radio on.

The CrispMic-ASR is available for licensing and sales to automotive, home entertainment, speech recognition, and semiconductor companies and other business customers. The CrispMic-ASR is one of a line of products using the company's smart microphone technologies for personal and business applications.

Earlier this month LcT launched the first stereo microphone with beam forming and noise reduction for the telepresence and video conferencing markets, CrispMic-Stereo, which meets the Microsoft Lync 2013 specification for stereo audio capture.
