Turin, Italy and Florence, Italy – Loquendo, leading speech technology provider, and the ‘Fondazione Sistema Toscana’, a foundation focused on new media communications created by the Region of Tuscany and the MPS Bank, announce the launch of a Web Radio and message service, integrating Loquendo Text-to-Speech technology, for Hospitals all over Tuscany, Italy.
The Web radio service, ‘Classica Dentro’, developed for the Region of Tuscany by the Fondazione Sistema Toscana, plays classical music in hospitals throughout the Tuscan region of Italy, interspersed with key announcements - by means of Loquendo’s fluent and expressive synthetic speech - providing vital information to in-patients, staff and visitors alike.
It has been demonstrated that classical music can significantly contribute to relaxing the mind and relieving stress, and can thus play an important role in improving the hospital environment for all. The Fondazione Sistema Toscana has therefore launched this invaluable service to improve the well-being of hospital patients and, at the same time, offer essential information on the day to day running of the hospital.
Loquendo TTS is expressive, natural sounding synthetic speech with a market-leading voice/language portfolio. Easy to integrate, whatever the device or environment, it has been deployed in every business sector across the globe, from IVR to mobile, from virtual Web assistants to assistive devices for the differently able.
"The Fondazione Sistema Toscana has created a highly worthwhile project which we are extremely pleased to be a part of," says Daniela Melfa, Sales Manager for Italy at Loquendo. "They have made an innovative use of speech and Web technologies to provide comfort and assistance to those in recovery. "
'"We selected Loquendo speech technology for the fluency and high quality of its speech, and for its ease of integration,” says Federico Picardi, Innovation Manager at the Fondazione Sistema Toscana. “We are very pleased with the final result, and soon hope to roll out a similar service in the museums of the region of Tuscany."
Loquendo will be present at the Forum PA 2010 May 17-20, Rome Fair Centre, Rome, Italy, where several speech enabled solutions will be available for demonstration. Come and find Loquendo in Padiglione 9, Stand 20A.
