Vianix today announced several PDA/SmartPhone-based mobility products based on SPART, the successor to its well-known and widely deployed MASC technology. SPART (Speech Processing for Automatic Recognition Technology) is a completely re-architected solution that delivers the ultimate in high-quality voice reconstruction with unrivaled human intelligibility and automatic speech recognition (ASR) accuracy.
MASC has been delivering value with support for end-to-end solutions in key vertical industries for more than 10 years, with an installed base of more than 500,000 end users. During this time, Vianix became acutely aware of the need for an approach that did not simply offer voice compression at the expense of voice quality, but rather one that focused first and foremost on voice quality and leveraged other speech processing technologies as well as compression to deliver voice that is essentially indistinguishable from, or even better than, the original.
After more than two years in development, SPART is now in several key commercial engagements, including healthcare, public safety, legal, insurance, call centers, mobile voice services, voice biometrics, and semiconductors. The broad and richly featured PDA/Smartphone support extends the reach of this best-in-breed technology to mobile professionals in these markets.
The mobility products include:
Windows Mobile Platform Support for narrow (8 and 11 KHz) and wide band (16 KHz):
- ACM Framework: SPART on Windows Mobile is available in the Microsoft ACM framework, which instantly ties into any ACM-based application with little to no development and integration effort. Vianix ACM Mobility Package includes a complete speech processing solution for the mobile and the PC and Server platforms.
- .NET Compact Framework (.NET CF) and Native Platform (C/C++): SPART is now supported on the .NET CF and the Native Platform as an SDK for various voice applications. It includes record, play, pause, forward, rewind, etc. This CF also includes support for transcoding and conversion of various formats such as PCM, GSM, A-Law and others from and to the MASC/SPART formats.
Windows Mobile Platform Applications:
- Pocket Talk Enterprise Pro: PTEP is a full-fledged feature rich powerful audio recording application that runs on Windows Mobile with powerful audio features, such as mark points, flexible deletion and insertion with both live and existing audio files into the current recording, and selectable quality/compression levels.
- VPlayer is a simple audio application to play audio files that have been processed with MASC/SPART technology.
- Mobile Phone Duplex Call Recording is a sophisticated application, based on PTEP, which sends recorded mobile calls and call information, such as time of recording and caller information, to a media server using traditional email, FTP, or other standard protocols.
"We are excited to have added a mobility solution to our advance speech processing solutions portfolio. Our clients' need to support voice capture with the highest quality over fixed telephones and PCs, and now increasingly on the move, with mobile devices, has been addressed in total. This provides the ability for our clients' users to capture high-quality voice anytime, anywhere, on any network." said Veeru RamaswamyVianix's chief technology officer.
SPART availability today on the mobile platforms complements the Windows Java, .NET, C/C++ and Linux PC and Server platforms. Please contact Vianix for further information.
