Celtel Broadens Use of NMS Communications' Backhaul Optimizer

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Celtel, a multi-national mobile operator in Africa, is broadening the use of NMS' AccessGate™ backhaul optimization solution for its subscriber base.

NMS's AccessGate solution was designed to optimize the transport of GPRS/EDGE voice and data traffic over wireless networks, enabling mobile operators to roll out new services to their subscribers.  AccessGate reduces backhaul traffic and integrates with existing terrestrial leased line, satellite and microwave-based RAN infrastructures.
