Glenayre Completes Move of Messaging Suite to Intel And Linux-Based Platforms

ATLANTA, GA - Glenayre Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS) announced plans to move its complete Versera Solution portfolio to Intel and Linux-based solution platforms. Glenayre, which began working with Intel earlier this year, is focused on offering service providers an open, cost-effective messaging portfolio. "Integrating Intel and Linux technology into Glenayre's Versera Product Suite provides our customers with extremely attractive cost advantages," said Rolf Madson, senior vice president, products for Glenayre. "Linux's open- source code provides Glenayre the freedom and control to develop real applications for our customers' real business needs. Adding Intel's high- performance communications technology further enriches Glenayre's ability to provide open standards solutions as cost-effectively as possible. This combination reinforces Glenayre's ability to remain one of the most committed advocates for open-source messaging solutions." Service providers have already begun deploying Glenayre's Versera Solutions based on Linux and Intel platforms, with four platforms scheduled to be deployed before the end of the year. Glenayre's Versera Voice Services suite and Versera Unified Communications suite support carrier-grade servers and telephony boards from Intel.
