Nuance's Dragon Apps Now Support Korean

Nuance Communications' Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search applications now support Korean and are available for the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in the Korean Apple App Store.

Built on the Dragon NaturallySpeaking platform, Nuance's Dragon apps let users speak their text for SMS text messages, email, social media updates, and mobile Internet searches, up to five times faster than typing.

Korean joins Japanese and Mandarin Chinese as the third supported language in Asia, and marks the 13th language supported by the Dragon Apps, which have been downloaded by millions around the world since first introduced to the U.S. Apple Store in December 2009.

The latest version of Dragon Dictation is iOS-4 compatible and features a pop-up toolbar with app icons for easy access to email and text message apps, Facebook or Twitter status bars, or the clipboard. Dragon Dictation also includes a convenient Auto Save function that retains dictated text when the user is interrupted by an incoming phone call.

Dragon Search for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch lets users speak any search query to find and access information and answers on the mobile Web. Nuance’s Dragon Search Carousel delivers search results within seconds across multiple channels all at once, including Naver, Google, Yahoo, Mnet, Wikipedia, and YouTube.

"Following the successful launch of the Dragon Apps in Japan and China, we're now going live in Korea, giving even more consumers around the world the ability to experience Dragon's speed and ease of use," said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of Nuance Mobile. "And as promised, we're investing even more resources into supporting many more languages across Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, delivered through the end of 2011."

Both Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search are available for free from the Apple App Store.

Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search support U.S, U.K., and Australian English, German, European and Canadian French, Italian, American and European Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and now Korean. And with multilingual capabilities, all Dragon app users are able to easily switch between supported languages as they become available.
