Lucas Systems and Dastronic Partner in Global Alliance
Lucas Systems, Inc., the largest independent provider of voice-directed warehouse applications in North America, Thursday announced an alliance with Dastronic NV, a European provider of warehouse logistics solutions and services based in Belgium, in which they are introducing Jennifer VoicePlus solutions in Europe.
The companies said that the alliance provides a better approach to voice-directed warehouse solutions that emphasizes user-centric design combined with best-in-class voice recognition software. Initial Jennifer pick-by-voice customers in Europe have seen immediate operational improvements and rapid user adoption, according to the companies.
Jennifer VoicePlus, from Lucas, features a unique approach to speech recognition in the warehouse that reduces user training while maximizing recognition accuracy across users and environments. In addition, Jennifer voice prompts are optimized to promote ease of use, efficiency, and user acceptance across languages, according to the company. Jennifer also provides voice-directed warehouse solutions for industry-standard mobile computers used in a warehouse or distribution center, offering lower operating costs for IT organizations. The complete Jennifer VoicePlus solution includes comprehensive process management and reporting tools that help front-line supervisors improve operations using real-time data from the warehouse floor.
"Pick-by-voice is a proven technology, but companies today are looking for voice solutions that can do more than simply voice-enable their current processes," said Geert Lowet, managing director of Dastronic, in a statement. "Lucas and Dastronic share a similar philosophy on how to work with customers. The key, we believe, is to take a bottom-up approach that puts users at the center of the design process. This user-centric approach, combined with Jennifer's superior voice technology, results in pick-to-voice systems providing higher levels of productivity, accuracy, and user acceptance, and as a result, a better return on investment for managers."
