Posted Dec 15, 2011

Nuance Communications has expanded its NDEV Mobile developer program to Brazil, allowing developers there to voice-enable iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 7 apps with the power of Dragon.

NDEV Mobile has signed more than 6,000 developers in 2011 in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. It gives developers access to the Dragon Mobile SDK, which supports 22 languages for voice-to-text and more than 30 for text-to-speech.

"Given the incredibly positive response to our Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps in Brazil, we wanted to give developers the ability to voice-enable a wide variety of applications for Brazilian consumers across a variety of platforms," said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of Nuance Mobile. "NDEV Mobile makes accessing and integrating our core Dragon technologies incredibly easy, while providing varying levels of support based on each unique developer's needs."

NDEV Mobile offers three service tiers that enable developers great flexibility in how they voice-enable applications:

NDEV Mobile has given some of the most popular apps consumer love a voice, including Price Check by Amazon, Ask for iPhone, Merriam-Webster, Dictionary.com, RemoteLink from OnStar, SpeechTrans, Yellow Pages and AirYell from Avantar, iTranslate, Taskmind, SayHi Translate, Vocre, Bon'App, Shopping List from Recipes.com, and many others.

The Dragon Mobile SDK is available for iOS 4.0 and 5.0 (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch), Android 2.1 and higher, Windows Phone 7.1, and via an HTTP Web services interface.
