IVO Software today presented the latest version of its Expressivo 1.4.4 text-to-speech software, which integrates with Microsoft Word 2007. With Expressivo, users can listen to any text highlighted on a computer screen.

Expressivo may also be used to read out subtitles, create audio books, watch movies with voice-overs, listen to information on Web sites, and  learn foreign languages. It also facilitates communication with popular applications, such as Microsoft's Outlook and Internet Explorer, Mozilla's Firefox and Thunderbird, and Skype. Users can select the Expressivo voice that will read the text to them.

Expressivo is able to read text from virtually any source — from the simplest word processor, through Web browsers to sophisticated databases and spreadsheets. It is enough to highlight a piece of text and choose "read" in the "select and read" window.
