Updates include direct search feature.
Munich, Germany-based Linguatec Language Technologies announced the availability of Voice Reader Text-to-Speech 2.5 for iOS, an updated version of its productivity app that reads entered text, text files, and PDF files aloud.
In addition to featuring high quality pronunciation, this update adds a direct search feature, a percentage figure for reading progress, speed levels, and an optional erase confirmation.
Voice Reader's search feature can find a letter, word, or phrase anywhere in a body of text. It can also locate a percentage figure through the Go-To function. These features are supported in both the online and offline modes. In response to user requests, the percentage display for reading progress and text display is now visible in the offline mode.
The update features 32 voices (20 female and 12 male) in 21 languages: U.S. English, UK English, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Mexican Spanish, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish. Any of the voices can be downloaded through the optional in-app purchase for offline operation.
Voice Reader Text to Speech 2.5 is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Productivity category. Review copies are available upon request. For offline operation without an Internet connection, optional voice downloads are available as an in-app purchase for $0.99 each.
