Aculab Releases SS7 Signaling Monitor

MILTON KEYNES, UK - Aculab released its SS7 signaling monitor, a software option that can be used in conjunction with Aculab's enabling technology hardware and SS7 software to produce monitoring and data capture applications for use in SS7 networks.

The media processing resources of enabling technology hardware - such as Aculab's Prosody X IP media processing platform, can be used to record such calls.

The SS7 signaling monitor software can be used with any Aculab card fitted with a PMXC module or having on-board trunk connections and an appropriate signaling DSP. Configurations are available to enable the capture and monitoring of signaling information in up to 64 bi-directional links.

Protocol variants (e.g., ITU-T, ANSI, China ISUP) are configurable on a per link basis, and traffic from multiple signaling links can be merged into a TCP/IP connection to an application. Multiple cards can be used for traffic monitoring, filtering, analysis, and recording systems.

Aculab's SS7 signaling monitor and Prosody X media processing platform offer support for additional ISDN connectivity and an MRCP interface to speech engines.
