West, a provider of technology-driven voice and data solutions, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire HyperCube , a provider of tandem switching services to telecommunications providers, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2005, HyperCube provides toll-free origination services in the United States. Its network provides neutral interconnection services for all types of providers, including wireless, wireline, and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP). Hypercube currently serves eight of the top 10 largest wireless companies in the United States.

HyperCube's network and technology is expected to provide West with enhanced service offerings around IP interconnections, mobility, and unified communications. The combination of West and HyperCube is expected to better enable clients to develop and deliver mobility and next-generation IP-based solutions. These solutions include hosted telephony and network services, device-to-device applications, and secure private voice and data network solutions.

"HyperCube's network and technology, coupled with West's vast offerings, will greatly enhance our ability to offer our customers cost-effective solutions to meet their growing demand for mobility and IP-based telephony," said Ron Beaumont, CEO of HyperCube. "Our management team and employees are excited about the many opportunities resulting from this combination."
