Clarity Technologies, Trilogy Electronics and Dspfactory Team to Provide Drop-in Solution

Clarity Technologies recently teamed with Auburn Hills-based Trilogy Electronics and Dspfactory to provide the uCAFE (Micro-Clarity Audio Front End) Solution to eliminate noise when integrated in communication products.

According to Clarity, the uCAFE, at only 25mm x 25mm in size, can be integrated in a variety of applications, providing clearer listening for wireless communications, line powered telephones, 2-way radios and helmets, Bluetooth devices, hands-free kits, speakerphones and more.

"Clarity and Trilogy have a proven partnership demonstrated by last year's success in providing turnkey hardware and software solutions to telematics and electronics customers worldwide," said Clarity president and CEO Raymond Gunn. "By utilizing Trilogy's hardware design and manufacturing resources, Clarity can continue to focus on providing a superior, noise free product to meet consumer demands."

Built by Trilogy, the uCAFE and Programming Audio & Logic (PAL) Engineering Development Kit (EDK) can be used to evaluate or integrate Clarity's software algorithms that have been developed for use on the proprietary Dspfactory BeleSigna 200 Digital Signal Processing (DSP) hardware platform. Clarity's proprietary CVC-OMS (Clear Voice Capture - One Microphone Solution) noise reduction software technology is provided as part of the kit.

Additional technology offered by Clarity and available soon on the uCAFE will include, CVC-TOMS (Two way bi-directional noise reduction), CVC-CHF (Clear Hands Free Suite with Acoustic Echo Cancellation and OMS noise reduction), CVC-LEC (Line Echo Cancellation), CVC-ASP (Acoustic Shock Protection) as well as CVC Blue for various voice applications to improve Bluetooth wireless technology audio performance. uCAFE will retail ranging from $149 to $26 depending on volumes. The EDK kit sells for $890 with additional accessories priced separately.
