Clique Communications Signs Licensing Agreement for GIPS VoiceEngine

SAN FRANCISCO - Clique Communications LLC, a pioneer in the personal video communications market, announced that it has selected Global IP Sound (GIPS) VoiceEngine(TM) to provide the voice quality offered by its products. Under the licensing arrangement, Clique Communications will integrate GIPS VoiceEngine(TM) into its Clique(TM) Video Messenger platform, which enhances instant messaging with video and audio.

"Initially, we approached GIPS for a single voice processing component to enhance the sound quality in our application. However, we quickly realized that GIPS VoiceEngine(TM) provides a comprehensive platform that not only provides the superior sound quality unmatched by any other solution but also enables us to more quickly bring our product to market," said Wayne Bordone, senior vice president at Clique Communications. "GIPS engineering integration and customer support significantly simplified our design, integration and deployment process."

The GIPS Voice Engine software platform is designed to handle voice-related tasks for VoIP soft clients in both personal computer (PC) and personal digital assistant (PDA) environments. VoiceEngine(TM) combines GIPS patented voice processing technology together with an API to provide integration and deployment of sound processing software.

GIPS VoiceEngine(TM), which is compatible with IP telephony standards (G.711, SIP, H.323, etc.), is a voice processing plug-in. The solution allows manufacturers to integrate both standard and customer-specific codecs.
