Fujitsu Partners with ImageWare for Biometrics Offering

Fujitsu, an information and communication technology company, and ImageWare Systems, a provider of mobile and cloud-based, multimodal biometric identity management solutions, have released an upgraded version of the Biometric-as-a-Service solution on Fujitsu Cloud Service S5. The update leverages the latest version of Fujitsu Software Enterprise Service Catalog Manager and ImageWare's proprietary GoVerifyID, a cloud-based biometric identity management suite.

This combined solution offers seamless cloud deployment of the biometric ID management solution. Customers can blend biometric modalities, such as voice, palm vein, retina scan, etc., and integrate the solution with existing business applications. For users operating across multiple locations, desired geographies can be selected for storing data when deploying the Biometrics-as-a-Service on the Fujitsu Cloud. The solution offers identity assurance for customers, employees, and third parties.

"We are constantly seeking new ways to offer a large range of solutions to our customers to meet their growing IT needs. As the number of mobile devices designed with biometric features continues to grow, and as more and more businesses strive to minimize the risk of fraud, we are pleased to have upgraded our Biometrics-as-a-Service offering," said Derek Northrope, global biometrics community lead at Fujitsu Canada, in a statement. "ImageWare is a global leader in the biometric identity management market and is able to support virtually any biometric modality, offers multibiometric fusion, and can securely store and match biometric data in the cloud anonymously."

"Businesses are searching for new ways to securely identify and authenticate mission-critical operations, data, and transaction information. The deployment of this upgraded joint product on the Fujitsu S5 Cloud allows us to address this growing need for end-user verification as a service on a large scale. Fujitsu is a leader in system integrations and cloud services, and through this partnership we offer a world-class product that can empower businesses with the biometric identity verification they need to control virtually any form of access," Jim Miller, chairman and CEO of ImageWare Systems, said in a statement.
