IDS Readies Debut Of Latest Mobile Apps

Integrated Document Solutions (IDS), a provider of healthcare documentation solutions via cloud computing, Friday unveiled its new smartphone applications that focus on unifying work lists and improving accessibility.

The new applications allow healthcare providers to wirelessly authenticate verbal orders, dictate patient encounters, remotely sign reports, and document appropriate billing levels. Physicians can perform these time-sensitive tasks using iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, and Windows Mobile devices. Downloads are available through the Apple iTunes store.

The apps include Mobile Voice2Dox, a complete end-to-end dictation solution based on the provider’s daily work list of scheduled patients. Using the app, drafts appear in minutes with the template of choice and format for final review and electronic sign-off.

The new Charge Capture feature is a cross-platform mobile application that enables hospitalists to securely record charge capture details using any tablet or smart phone. The solution applies a distributed approach, enabling physicians to quickly record charge information at the point-of-care and immediately transfer the encounter details to the billing department for claims processing.

Another new feature is Physician Verbal Orders, an electronic workflow process to authenticate physician verbal and telephone orders. Physicians can instantly receive notifications of verbal orders requiring their signatures and review, reject, or sign the orders on a mobile device.

"Physician mobility will be essential to the success of all healthcare organizations going forward," said IDS CEO Yaniv Dagan, in a statement. "Our cloud approach allows us to implement and deploy in almost no time customized mobile workflows to support physicians on the go. Our mobile applications make physicians more productive and provide facilities with the tools they need to maintain compliance and improve patient care documentation."
