Nuance Releases Nuance Voice Creation Tools

MENLO PARK, Calif. - Nuance released Nuance Voice Creation Tools. Nuance's custom voice creation toolset, used in tandem with Nuance's Vocalizer 4.0 text-to-speech engine, is designed to make custom text-to-speech (TTS) voice development manageable for customers needing multiple custom voices. Now, with Nuance Voice Creation Tools, Nuance partners worldwide - in an array of languages - can help their customers use their own voice talent for both pre-recorded prompts and the TTS portions of their voice automation applications.

"Enterprises invest considerable time, cost and effort into building and reinforcing their company brand via a seamless, intuitive customer experience. One particular issue for companies results from their desire to ensure that their callers avoid experiencing a mix of their unique voice talent with generic text-to-speech (TTS) voices," said Dr. Judith Markowitz, president and founder, J. Markowitz, Consultants. "As companies continue to embrace TTS projects, especially automated directory assistance applications, toolsets that facilitate a consistent caller experience, while providing dynamic information via phone, are likely to generate industry interest."

Nuance is currently making custom voice tools available to partners and customers, enabling them to create a voice for a more conversational caller experience. Nuance Voice Creation Tools, along with the Nuance Vocalizer 4.0, are designed for applications that deliver large volumes of content via telephone, including directory assistance, account management, voice-activated dialing, and email reading. Custom TTS voices transition between recorded prompts and TTS responses.

Also, Nuance's new toolset allows partners and customers to optimize a TTS voice for specific domain or application needs.

Currently, several Nuance-created custom voices can be heard around the world in various languages, including English, French and German, and in a variety of industries, from financial services to telecommunications.
