PIKA and Voxpilot Combine to Offer VoiceXML Capabilities

PIKA Technologies, a developer of media-processing hardware and software, today announced that its Formula T1/E1 Gateway is fully supported by Voxpilot’s Open Media Platform, offering a fast and cost-effective way for companies seeking to build voice applications based on the VoiceXML standard.

The Voxpilot Open Media Platform is a distributed call control and VoiceXML-based media processing platform designed to enable rapid delivery of next-generation interactive voice response (IVR), speech, and multimedia services on a single platform. Voxpilot recently completed successful SIP interoperability tests on the Formula T1/E1 Gateway product, and the platform now officially supports PIKA’s gateway.

"We are delighted to announce that Voxpilot now supports PIKA’s Formula T1/E1 Gateway, which allows developers using PIKA technology to quickly and easily take advantage of the benefits of the VoiceXML open standard," said Sean Cullen, chief operating officer at Voxpilot. "The combination of our technologies allows companies to rapidly develop and deploy innovative IVR applications that focus on the caller’s experience rather than telecommunications protocols."

Easily integrated into any IT network, PIKA’s Formula T1/E1 Gateway is a network connectivity solution that offers developers and end users of voice applications a cost-effective and flexible option to connect their applications to the telephony network. Entirely IT-centric and running on a standard off-the-shelf server, the product’s open, Linux-based architecture allows developers to co-locate their applications on the gateway, significantly reducing server, ongoing maintenance and real estate costs.

"It is exciting to have our product supported by a leader such as Voxpilot, which is, like PIKA, intent on pushing boundaries in the voice sector," said Terry Atwood, vice president of sales, marketing and customer care at PIKA. "This means that developers using the PIKA Gateway now have access to an outstanding VoiceXML solution for the creation of IVR applications."
