VÓCALI Adopts Loquendo TTS and ASR for Home Automation Systems
VÓCALI, specialists in bringing natural language human-machine interaction to home automation systems, has integrated Loquendo text-to-speech (TTS) and automatic speech recognition (ASR) technologies into its INVOX home automation solution.
INVOX can control devices in home automation systems through voice commands like Set the room temperature to 20º C, Turn off the stove, or Switch off the telly. These and other such natural-language commands are understood by the Loquendo ASR engine incorporated into INVOX.
INVOX integrates with the home automation bus via KNX—the international open standard for home automation—and is compatible with a wide range of appliances, controlling all devices on the bus by means of natural language commands.
No additional wiring or installation work is required: INVOX can be placed anywhere in the house, on show or discreetly out of sight, thanks to its wireless connection with the home automation bus. The INVOX computer is small, robust and quiet, and has a standard I/O audio system, compatible with a multitude of microphones and speakers. In addition, users can also make calls via Voice over IP (VoIP) and use their mobile phones or PDAs to give spoken commands.
