ORLANDO , Florida - Voxeo Corporation's VoiceCenter v6.0 IVR platform has been awarded VoiceXML Forum Platform Certification.

The Voxeo VoiceCenter platform passed more than 600 independently tested assertions in the VoiceXML Forum's VoiceXML 2.0 test suite, making it one of five available VoiceXML certified platforms. Voxeo offers the same VoiceXML certified platform for both hosted and customer-premise deployments, and has both a VoiceXML certified platform and a VoiceXML Application Developer certified support staff.

As a result of the Platform Certification, VoiceXML 2.0 applications will be portable to and from the Voxeo VoiceCenter platform. New customers can move their applications onto the VoiceCenter platform without rewriting or retooling the code. The formal test report, detailing the required and optional features tested, is publicly available on the VoiceXML Forum's Web site at http://www.voicexml.org/platform_certification/.

"The VoiceXML Forum's Platform Certification Program is a key component of our strategy to accelerate worldwide market adoption for speech-enabled applications," said Ken Rehor, vice chair of the VoiceXML Forum and chair of the Forum's Conformance Committee. "VoiceXML platform certification promotes interoperability of VoiceXML platforms, tools, service providers, and applications. As VoiceXML adoption continues to grow in enterprises and carriers, certification assists customers in choosing from a wide variety of vendors and deployment options to solve their particular business needs."

The Voxeo VoiceCenter IVR platform incorporates Motorola's VoiceXML 2.0/2.1 browser technology. Voxeo has worked closely with Motorola to create an IVR platform that is built on open standards.

"Motorola is very pleased that the Voxeo VoiceCenter IVR platform and the Motorola VoxGateway VoiceXML voice browser have passed the VoiceXML Forum's stringent certification process. We strongly support VoiceXML and the other related open standards from the W3C's Voice Browser and Multimodal Interaction working groups," said Jim O'Connor, vice president, Motorola Technology Incubation and Commercialization. "We are proud to be a part of the VoiceCenter IVR platform now and in the future."
