LAS VEGAS -- MGM Mirage selected NEC Unified Solutions to provide a new IP telecommunications solution for its Luxor Hotel & Casino and Excalibur Hotel & Casino properties here.

"MGM MIRAGE is focused on delivering the highest level of service and customer satisfaction for our guests, including advanced technology solutions to make their experience more pleasurable," said Tom Peck, senior vice president and chief information officer at MGM Mirage.

The Luxor and Excalibur properties plan to upgrade their existing NEC TDM systems to the Univerge NEAX 2400 IPX, a customized hybrid/TDM IP platform that allows customers to leverage the benefits of network convergence without having to undergo a forklift upgrade. Hotel and casino employees and guests will be able to take advantage of the added features and functionality IP telephony offers including, expanded voicemail capacity, enhanced wake-up-call features, fully integrated attendant consoles to support reservations, and an integrated contact center solution with automatic call distribution.
