Voice Assist and Tap Factory Release Contact on the Apple App Store

Voice Assist today released the Contact app from Tap Factory Apps and Voice Assist.

Downloadable from the Apple App store, this integrated solution provides a voice-activated communications assistant for all versions of iPhone. With no need for internet access, the Voice Assist service works anywhere users have cell phone voice coverage.

Optimized for hands-free driving, the new app allows users to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while they dial, text, email, or post by voice. Through the Contact app, users get one-touch access to Voice Assist services and can keep their iPhone contacts in sync with the Voice Assist cloud address book. This ensures that the Voice Assist assistant has the latest contact information at all times.

Now with a single tap, drivers can send a text without typing by just dictating their text message, and when they receive a text message, Voice Assist's patent-pending technology can read the reply out loud. The hands-free multitasking user interface helps people be more productive and safe while driving.

A voice user interface designed for safe driving is different from a voice interface used to speak and see things on the phone like SIRI," said Michael Metcalf, Voice Assist's chairman and CEO, in a statement. "You need a complete auditory interface to keep focused on the road."

The software update already went out to more than 400,000 existing clients and is available for new clients to buy on the Apple App Store.

"Working with Voice Assist to voice-enable our existing app was simple, straightforward. and easy for our developers to do," said Mark Peterson, co-founder of TapFactory, in a statement. "Our clients love the ability to use voice instead of pressing buttons. This is opening up a whole new world as we consider what you can do by voice with a single tap."
