Simply put, we want Speech Technology Magazine to develop into the speech technology industry's information portal. To become that portal, this magazine will focus on innovations in the speech technology industry and, where possible, lend assistance to the industry's growth. While seemingly a simple concept, such an ambitious goal requires input and advice from our readers, advertisers and contributors - the experts of the industry. You make the industry thrive; we provide you a much-needed communication link. To better our publication we invite you to participate in the process. Consider this an open invitation to keep us informed about how speech technology challenges, perplexes, changes and betters your world. Speech Technology Magazine promises to completely cover the changing way in which the world communicates. Our publication will regularly reach the leading executives, developers, educators, government officials and others who are using, developing and marketing the technology that is changing the world. Of course, our staff works diligently to provide you an unbiased, informed news source in which earning our reader's trust is paramount. While you may disagree with our opinions, you can trust our research. We pledge to investigate the latest developments and bring you the most accurate and comprehensive information found anywhere in the world about speech technology. Our mission is to expand our coverage beyond desktop uses of speech recognition and cover developments affecting telephony, embedded systems, Internet, biometrics, verification, dialogue design, wearable computers and other forms of technologies implementing speech. As the industry evolves, so will our coverage. While we are and will continue to be proponents of industry growth, we are not cheerleaders. It is our duty to challenge the industry to develop and market applications that earn the respect of customers worldwide. Not every review you read in this magazine will be laudatory; some articles may be critical or less than flattering. Our job is not to produce puffery, but to provide a serious, solid foundation for the exchange of ideas and innovations in a remarkably exciting industry.
