Adobe Captivate 5 Goes Multilingual with Loquendo Text-to-Speech

Adobe Captivate 5, which enables users to enhance courseware with software demonstrations, interactive simulations, branching scenarios, and quizzes, now features Loquendo text-to-speech technology in English, French and German.

With the addition of Loquendo's TTS, creators of courseware can now add Loquendo’s natural and fluent synthetic speech for the generation of rich, multilingual eLearning content. Captivate 5 is available for both Mac and Windows.

“Loquendo brings to our software its high performing, high quality expressive speech to help users deliver a multingual, media-rich experience,” says Shameer Ayyappan, the Adobe eLearning Suite's product manager for Captivate. “We are sure this is just the beginning of a fruitful relationship with Loquendo, and, given their extensive range of voices and languages, we will consider extending our language support in future versions of Captivate.”

“Thanks to this agreement between Adobe and Loquendo, Captivate 5 enhances the experience for more users worldwide by equipping them with multilingual, high quality synthetic speech, to offer a learning experience which is engaging, interactive and highly personalisable,” says Monica Bisacca, sales manager for North America at Loquendo. “Captivate empowers users to easily create and edit dynamic courseware in a fraction of the time and without the cost of programming.”
