BTSLogic Announces Speech-Enabled Directory Assistance Service

COLLEGE PARK, MD - BTSLogic announced the general availability of SEDA SM (Speech-Enabled Directory Assistance). The service provides callers with automated directory assistance, recognizing the caller's spoken request and returning the desired number in English. Using BTSLogic's MultiModal VoxDA™ technology, SEDA features LSSi's U.S. telephone directory listing data and uses Consolidated Operator Services for fallback. The SEDA service supports standards including SS7, RLT (Release Link Trunking), PAM, VXML, and AMA. "Up to now the industry has approached the challenge of DA automation solely from a speech recognition or text-to-speech angle," said Masoud Loghmani, vice-president of technology at BTSLogic. "BTSLogic, however, has taken a holistic approach to DA automation. This approach provides an automated solution that fully and seamlessly integrates within a carrier's network. SEDA offers a very robust, efficient, and most important of all, natural experience." The LSSi directory data is updated daily. "Whether it's live directory assistance operators or speech-automated services like SEDA, accurate and complete telephone listings are a core requirement for delivering reliable directory assistance service," said James Healy, director of product management at LSSi Corp. "BTSLogic's decision to use the most accurate U.S. telephone listings available demonstrates their commitment to providing the highest quality service."
