Brooktrout Adds Burger to Team

NEEDHAM, Mass. - Brooktrout Technology Inc. announced that Eric Burger has joined the Brooktrout team as vice president, chief technology officer of Next-Gen Communications, where he will be responsible for setting the technology direction for Brooktrout's current and future next generation products. In addition, Burger will continue to represent Brooktrout in several industry forums including the Internet Engineering Task Force, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, International Packet Communications Consortium, World Wide Web Consortium and the SIP Forum.

 

Prior to joining Brooktrout, Burger co-founded SnowShore Networks Inc. where he served as chief technology officer responsible for building real-time, Internet-centric, large scale, packet media processing servers. Burger has held several strategic positions in the communications industry, including chief scientist at ADC/Centigram Communications Corporation, where he led the development of Centigram's IP-centric architecture; and vice president of engineering for the Telephone Connection, Inc.

 

He holds degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Catholic University of Leuven and was an adjunct professor of Computer Science at George Mason University.
