Dunkin Donuts to Bring Gronk to Waze Voice App
As part of Dunkin' Donuts' partnership with Waze, the crowd-sourced traffic and navigation app, the brand has arranged for New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to be the latest free celebrity voice to help users tackle any drive with turn-by-turn directions.
Waze users can select Gronkowski's voice to help them make it to their destinations quickly and easily. In addition to providing directions and traffic conditions, Gronkowski will also remind users about Dunkin' Donuts locations along the way.
Gronkowski signed a two year contract with Dunkin' Donuts earlier this year.
"Rob Gronkowski's outgoing personality and humor is a perfect fit for a celebrity voice guide for Waze. We are excited to bring Rob's voice to Waze users for an entertaining ride to their destination, with perhaps a stop at Dunkin' Donuts along the way," said Patty Healy, field marketing director for the New England Region at Dunkin' Brands, in a statement.
After typing in their destination addresses, Waze users can drive with the app open on their phones to navigate to their end destinations and can also contribute traffic and other road data, helping to give other users in the area a 'heads-up' about what's to come. Waze has more than 50 million worldwide users and is available for free in more than 30 languages on iOS and Android platforms.
