Eicon Networks Partners With Newfound Communications

PLANO, Texas — Newfound Communications, Inc. joined Eicon's Technology Partner Program.  Eicon Networks Corporation's Technology Partners (ETPs) are Independent Software Vendors who offer solutions, based on Eicon Diva Server products.

Newfound has proven interoperability between Eicon's SIPcontrol™ and Newfound's MediaMixer and IP Call Recorder products.

The Newfound IP Call Recorder 1.0 records any phone call in a carrier, enterprise or contact center telephony environments. Supporting multi tenant architecture, the IP Call Recorder provides ad-hoc (partial call) recording without requiring dedicated telephony ports.  Ad-hoc call recording enables the capture and indexing of recordings at any point of a call and for any duration.

The Newfound MediaMixer 1.4 delivers speech applications by overlaying a second channel of audio during a phone call.  Working with VoiceXML and VoIP, the MediaMixer feeds audio independent of the IVR prompts and dialogs with effects such as fade in, volume control or fade out as well as voice navigation tools such as fast forward, rewind or pause. The MediaMixer utilizes many audio formats available for telephony applications (.ulaw, .alaw, .WAV, etc.)

Diva Server V-Series telephony hardware provides a dedicated range of functional telephony adapters that provide digital network interfaces and rich media processing capabilities for enabling voice, speech and conferencing applications.  Based on the latest PCI industry standards each adapter provides connectivity to the telephony network via Analog, ISDN Basic Rate (BRI), Primary Rate (PRI), E1 or T1 interfaces. Eicon's installation and set-up of the Diva Server hardware and SIPcontrol makes is designed for creating an IP/PSTN gateway to be used for speech applications.

Diva Server SIPcontrol™ provides a SIP-based approach for interfacing with media applications. It behaves as a SIP User Agent and converts the call control information of the Diva Server telephony board into SIP messages. Voice channels are converted into IP packets and streamed via the RTP protocol into a SIP endpoint.  This way, Diva Server telephony boards - in combination with Diva Server SIPcontrol™ - act as an IP/PSTN Gateway and provide an approach that is compliant with the Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) and SIP architecture.
