GreenKey Joins the Symphony Software Foundation; Will Open Source Voice Software

GreenKey, creator of patented voice software with integrated speech recognition for the financial markets, has joined the Symphony Software Foundation, a nonprofit organization fostering innovation in financial services through open-source software. GreenKey will release a Community Edition of its voice software development kit (SDK) that will enable financial firms to voice-enable any web application.

GreenKey Community Edition provides a free commercial license to access desktop voice widgets written for popular browser frameworks that can be embedded into existing web applications. The project will be called GreenKey and released into the Symphony Software Foundation under the Apache 2.0 license.

"Everyone wins with open source. We applaud the Symphony Software Foundation for its leadership here, and are proud to offer our own contribution," said GreenKey Chief Technology Officer Tom Schady, in a statement. "Our SDK allows the next generation of financial apps to unlock the value latent in real-time voice streams, all powered by the GreenKey Voice platform."

"We're excited to welcome GreenKey to our community, and we are especially thrilled for a contribution that will foster an open ecosystem around voice, a key component of Wall Street workflows," said Gabriele Columbro, executive director of the Symphony Software Foundation, in a statement. "This not only broadens the spectrum of open-source commodities our community can provide for the industry, but it demonstrates once more how open collaboration is a great strategy to deliver innovative and successful fintech platforms."
