Idylic Launches Voice Portal in Senegal

PARIS, FRANCE - Sonatel Mobiles, a mobile operator in Senegal (40 percent of which is owned by France Telecom), launched its voice portal (news, sports, horoscope in French and in Wolof) this summer. The project involved deploying Idylic's Phonic Telecom platform, a complete carrier-grade VoiceXML Gateway solution, providing contents and facilitating the integration of local content. Idylic's VoiceXML solutions are mainly deployed in the areas of consumer-oriented voice portal services for telecom operators and call-center automation. They have been chosen by over 20 customers in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle-East and Africa), among which five are telecom operators. They are installed in thirty sites in seven different countries, and handle 1.8 million minutes of communication per month.
