Kirusa Opens Sales and Marketing Office in South Asia

NEW DELHI, India - Kirusa opened its South Asia sales office in New Delhi, India.  Kirusa also appointed Taranjit Batra as the vice president of sales for South Asia

The Kirusa Voice SMS (KV.SMS TM) solution enables mobile users to send SMS messages with voice and reply to SMS messages with voice.  The solution is based on Kirusa's patent pending technology, works on all handsets and networks, and provides an open platform for deployment of additional applications.

Kirusa first deployed KV.SMS in partnership with GrameenPhone in Bangladesh in September 2005.   Kirusa, based in New Jersey, USA, already has an R&D office in Bangalore since 2003.  The sales office in Delhi will provide local sales support to wireless carriers in the region, enabling them to leverage Kirusa's ability to deploy the Voice SMS solution.  Support is also provided locally from its R&D facility in Bangalore.

Batra comes to Kirusa with over 25 years of sales, marketing, management, and finance experience in multinational corporations in South Asia.  Previously, he was with Eaton Corporation, a US-based industrial manufacturer, serving as general manager sales for their South Asia Channel Operations with a focus on the ICT and telecom segments.  Batra has also held senior management positions with Emerson Electric, a supplier of hardware to the telecom industry, and with Larsen & Toubro Ltd., a technology-driven engineering conglomerate based in Mumbai.  Batra holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
