Loquendo Speech Technologies Certified Interoperable with Huawei Voice Platform

Huawei, a provider of telecommunications networking solutions, has certified Loquendo's speech solution for telecommunication platforms, the Loquendo MRCP Server as interoperable with its platform UAP 8100.

UAP 8100 is the universal access platform that integrates broadband and narrowband capabilities to suit the requirement for large contact centers by governments, financial organizations, and outsourcing organizations. As well as connectivity to PSTN/PLMN, NGN, and 3G networks, the platform provides open and standard protocol interfaces and supports a broad range of broadband and narrowband signalling or protocols, such as TUP, ISUP, H.248, SIP, and SIGTRAN. The UAP8100 equips contact centers with narrowband and broadband access, switch access, call processing, media resources, and media data processing capabilities such as audio, video, and media format conversion.

Loquendo MRCP Server (in version 7.0 of the Loquendo Speech Suite incorporating Loquendo TTS 7.8 and ASR) is a backward-compatible evolution of Loquendo Speech Suite. They are both server solutions for speech-enabling large-scale telephony applications, such as contact centers and message reading services. They reduce costs by interacting with customers via a speech interface.

Loquendo MRCP Server and Loquendo Speech Suite support all major standards and employ a flexible, client-server architecture.

"As part of Huawei’s All-IP convergence strategy, our solutions enable operators to simplify their network, increase operational efficiency and business profitability, and accelerate all-IP transformation time," said David Wang, managing director of Huawei Italy and Switzerland. "We are pleased to cooperate with Loquendo to help telecommunication operators and enterprises to cost-effectively improve service satisfaction and marketing efficiency."

"We are delighted that Huawei’s voice platform now successfully supports Loquendo technologies, offering a high quality solution for the creation of speech-enabled services worldwide," says Davide Franco, CEO of Loquendo. "This achievement marks the beginning of an important partnership which will enable both companies to extend their reach into new emerging markets."

Loquendo MRCP Server 7.1 and Speech Suite 7.0 are available for the following operating systems:

  •   Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 and 2008;
  •   Red Hat Linux Enterprise Edition 3, 4 and 5;
