Loquendo TTS Powers Frequentis' ATIS System

TURIN, ITALY - Loquendo's text-to-speech engine has been chosen by Frequentis to power the ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) systems they are creating for Deutsche Flugsicherung, the German Air Traffic Service Provider. The systems, which dispatch ATC specific information, will be integrated within air traffic control systems such as those used in large control towers. Loquendo TTS's U.S. English persona, Susan, will provide air traffic controllers using the Frequentis ATIS service with dynamic information. This will enable users to benefit from being spared the task of carrying out routine work. Frequentis is currently equipping five control towers in Germany.
