MacSpeech Reaches out to Hurricane Victims

SALEM, N.H. - MacSpeech will donate two percent of its profits for the month of September to the Red Cross to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. In addition, anyone can purchase additional donations in five dollar increments directly from the MacSpeech store. On a weekly basis, 100 percent of all donations collected will be sent to the Red Cross.

"This is a devastating event, made all the more personal to us by the fact that our chief evangelist, Chuck Rogers, and his family are all residents of New Orleans," said MacSpeech CEO Andrew Taylor. "When we asked Chuck how we could help, this is what he suggested - and we are happy to donate. We added a SKU to our store for those who would like to donate over and above our amount at the time of their purchase.

People can also visit the site and just purchase a donation if they would like."

Taylor further reports that Chuck and his family evacuated New Orleans before the Hurricane and are fine, although they lost most of their possessions. More information regarding Chuck's situation can be found at his Web site, http://www.macchuck.com/.
