Nuance Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search Apps Now Available in Portugal

Nuance Communications today released versions of its Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad into Portugal with support for the Portuguese language.

Portugal is the 22nd country where each has been made available by Nuance in the last year, with both apps now available in 19 languages across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. And all users around the world can easily switch back and forth between all available languages with the apps’ multilingual capabilities.

Dragon Dictation is iOS-4 compatible and features a pop-up toolbar with app icons for access to email, SMS, Facebook or Twitter status bars, or the clipboard. Dragon Dictation also includes an Auto Save function that retains dictated text when the user is interrupted by an incoming phone call.

Dragon Search for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, also now available on the App Store, allows users to speak any search query to find information and answers on the mobile Web. Dragon Search is the only app to feature Nuance’s Dragon Search Carousel, which delivers search results within seconds across multiple channels all at once. Dragon Search includes results from Google or Yahoo!, Twitter, iTunes, Wikipedia, and YouTube.

"Twenty-two countries and 19 languages later, Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search continue their rapid global expansion with this latest launch in Portugal," said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of Nuance Mobile. "What is even more exciting is the apps' continued success in each and every region they are introduced, consistently hitting the #1 and #2 spots in free business apps in nearly every App Store."

Both Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search are available for free from the Portuguese Apple App Store.

Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search support U.S, U.K. and Australian English, German, European and Canadian French, Italian, Americas and European Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwan Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian, and European Portuguese. The applications are available in the U.S., Canadian, Mexican, U.K., German, French, Italian, Australian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong, Korean, Swiss, Austrian, Dutch, Belgian, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian, and Portuguese App Stores.
