Nuance Swype on Google Play Expands Global Availability

Nuance has announced that its Swype keyboard app for Android smartphones and tablets is now available in Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Updated features include improved Dragon Dictation experience and faster next word prediction.

Swype now features 65 downloadable languages and offers eight new languages: Afrikaans, Irish, Sesotho, Sudanese, Swahili, Xhosa, Zulu, and Javanese, for customers in Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Nuance said that Swype has also increased dialect support to 22 languages, and its crowd-sourced Hotwords feature is available to Polish and Arabic keyboard users, so trending words in phrases in each of those languages will automatically become available as part of their personalized language database.

Additional items in this latest update for Swype include:

  • Updated French, German, Russian, Italian and Spanish databases and word models.
  • Increased accuracy of next word predictions.
  • Simplified UI and better performance with Dragon Dictation.
  • New keyboard theme.

Swype is now available for download on Google Play with a limited time price of 99 cents.
