Philips and Dolbey Announce Partnership and the Release of Fusion Text

VIENNA, AUSTRIA and CINCINNATI, OH - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE:PHG) and Dolbey has announced a partnership agreement regarding the integration of Philips' speech recognition technology SpeechMagic in Dolbey's Fusion Text. Fusion Text is Dolbey's most recent STAT Report transcription and document management solution for the medical market. With the integration of SpeechMagic, Dolbey signed on as a Philips Technology Partner. Already extensively tested on medical applications, Fusion Text is designed to integrate directly into an already developed transcription and dictation workflow so there is no need to re-train physicians. Based on the Philips SpeechMagic technology, the system will lead to an efficiency increase of up to 60 percent by saving time and cost in the creation process for medical documents. SpeechMagic automatically transforms spoken words into written text, thus freeing resources in the transcription department. Philips SpeechMagic is integrated in more than 6000 sites throughout the world, making it the market leading speech recognition technology for medical document creation. "We are very excited about this new partnership with Philips. Integrating their industry leading voice recognition software with our STAT Report medical reporting software will give our customers a very powerful tool to decrease costs and improve patient care at the same time," Bob Leslie, vice president, general manager, Dolbey. Marcel Wassink, managing director, Philips Speech Processing, says: "With decades of experience, a strong market position and a focused strategy, Dolbey is an ideal partner for Philips. This partnership represents a critical step toward expanding our presence in the United States."
