Rady Children’s Hospital Selects Amcom Software for Unified Communications

Amcom Software has begun working with Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego to implement unified communications solutions to support information-sharing throughout its facilities.

The 261-bed hospital will leverage Amcom solutions for contact center operations, on-call scheduling, and staff messaging in concert with its Cisco PBX and phones. At the heart of the project is Rady Children’s goal of enhancing the patient experience through more seamless communications among staff, patients, and their families.

“The children and families who enter our facilities every day trust us to provide the best possible care. An effective communications blueprint is essential to our ability to achieve this,” said Albert Oriol, chief information officer at Rady Children’s Hospital. “Amcom’s unified communications solutions will allow us to serve our patients’ needs best, with a more nimble staff and the ability to incorporate changes in the way we need to communicate over time.”

Rady Children’s selected the Amcom system as the communications lynchpin for its new acute care pavilion opening later this year. The organization is replacing a system that constrained its ability to communicate efficiently. Going forward, Rady Children’s will rely on Amcom solutions site-wide to achieve a common, centralized framework that hinges on automation and interconnected applications to eliminate the difficulties of managing separate systems.

“We’re pleased to be part of Rady Children’s vision for the future of patient care and safety across their facilities,” said Chris Heim, CEO of Amcom Software. “Amcom has worked with many well-known children’s hospitals such as Rady to ensure the right communications reach the right staff members at all times. Our proven ability to integrate our solutions with Cisco phones will simplify these staff interactions.”
