Sparkasse Vest Deploys First MPS 500 in Central Europe

FRANKFURT, Germany - Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen has deployed a next generation interactive voice response solution from Nortel Networks* [NYSE/TSX: NT], optimizing IVR applications in its telephone banking facilities to provide a 'virtual market' of information tools and services for small- to medium-sized enterprise customers. This solution is based on Nortel Networks media processing server 500. Sparkasse Vest-Recklinghausen is the first customer in central Europe to deploy an MPS 500 solution. Nortel Networks' MPS 500 IVR solution includes a digital connection to the Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen PBX. This provides a next generation, self-service IVR solution that is flexible and scalable. It also positions the bank to drive lower operating costs by reducing call completion time, limiting the number of calls that agents are required to handle and increasing operating efficiency. MPS 500 is a new, mid-level platform that offers a full suite of advanced, self-service capabilities with world-class performance and reliability. MPS 500 uses the same software and key hardware components of the carrier-grade Nortel Networks MPS 1000 platform.
