The Disability Rights Commission Selects Readspeaker and rVoice

The U.K. Disability Rights Commission has selected ReadSpeaker with rVoice from Rhetorical for accessibility to its Web site through speech enabling. It is now possible to listen to the content of the DRC Web site, from any computer, without having to download software.

ReadSpeaker is also able to speech-enable PDFs, RTFs and word documents.

Speech enabling is of benefit to people with dyslexia, low literacy levels, learning disabilities, English as a second language or people with limited vision. In the UK it is estimated that 6 million people alone suffer from some form of dyslexia.

ReadSpeaker, which dynamically reads Web content out loud, can be
accessed by browsing a Web site, through a click on the 'Listen to this site' button.  The service is hosted by ReadSpeaker for the Web site owner and does not require any pre-installed software.
