University of Mississippi Selects PhoneticOperator

/>CHICAGO , Ill. - Phonetic Systems and Envox Worldwide announced that they have deployed Phonetic Systems' PhoneticOperator, a voice-driven operator services application, at the University of Mississippi. Deployed on Envox's communications development platform, PhoneticOperator provides the university with a solution for providing operator assistance to students and staff members.

The University of Mississippi required a solution to help them reduce operator expenses and direct calls received at their main directory assistance line after-hours and on weekends and holidays. The system currently routes calls for students, staff and departments and they are looking to add functionality in the future.

"PhoneticOperator allows us to offer better service to callers reaching our directory assistance line and frees up our operators' time to be a more valuable information resource," stated Roland (Buster) Clark ,

telecommunications director for the University of Mississippi . "The system has met all of our expectations and has been extremely easy for us to maintain even with student change-overs each semester. It also offers us a growth path for adding other valuable speech applications and services in the future."
