Wayfinder Partners with Code Factory

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Wayfinder partnered with Code Factory, an international company specializing in accessibility products. This cooperation ensures that Wayfinder Access will be powered by Mobile Speak, Code Factory's screen reader and will be available to Code Factory's customers across Europe and North America.

The cooperation between Wayfinder and Code Factory ensures that Wayfinder Access can be offered to the blind and visually impaired through the speech, magnification, and Braille output of Mobile Speak.

Wayfinder Access aims to help the blind and visually impaired to become more mobile with better access to their surroundings. The navigation software can be combined with text-to-speech applications like Code Factory's screen reader for Symbian mobile phones, Mobile Speak, to convert the displayed directions on the mobile device into speech. It also integrates screen magnification with font smoothing.

Code Factory will offer and market Wayfinder Access together with Mobile Speak to major operators and distributors in North America and Europe who have partnered with Code Factory for years.

Wayfinder Access will be delivered in 17 languages and be available across Europe and North America from the end of April 2007.

Wayfinder Access is a new mobile navigation product. With the four new Vicinity Views, a location becomes both visible and audible. This means that Points of Interest (POI), crossings, or favorites are listed according to their distance from the user's location.
