Audiobook company Spoken has launched an artificial intelligence-powered, multi-voice audiobook creation platform.

In beta for the past year, Spoken's patent-pending platform has been shaped by thousands of writers and listeners. Through partnerships with Hume AI and ElevenLabs, authors can assign unique, lifelike voices to every character, choosing from custom AI-generated voices or human voice clones made by professional narrators. Spoken's story and character analysis, along with its editing and publishing tools, empower authors to create and download audio projects that deliver consistent, emotionally resonant performances across entire books.

"Twelve months ago, digital narration of audiobooks was uncharted territory," said Spoken Founder and CEO Phil Marshall in a statement. "Now, we're giving authors unprecedented creative control. When I ran my own sci-fi novel through the system, hearing that cast of voices come alive was nothing short of miraculous."
