Appy Pie Receives a Patent for Conversational Interface

Appy Pie, an artificial intelligence app builder, has received a U.S. patent (No. 12,737,158 B2) for its "Automated No-Code Coding of App-Software Using a Conversational Interface and Natural Language Processing." The patent covers a system that lets users create and launch fully functional apps simply by describing what they want, by voice or text.

With Appy Pie's patented approach, users tell the platform what kind of app they need in everyday language. A natural language processing engine interprets the request and identifies the user's intent and key details. Appy Pie's AI then builds the app automatically. Once the user confirms, the app is deployed live.

Appy Pie learns during the conversation. Each time a user corrects or confirms how a request was understood, the system updates its language model in real time.

The patent also covers three interaction modes built with accessibility at their core. Blind Mode allows an app to be created entirely by voice, with the platform reading options aloud and responding to spoken instructions. Voice-Enabled Mode combines typing and speech, so users can dictate directly into the editor. Friend Mode guides users step by step through automated conversational prompts.
