AudioLens Brings Audio Playback, Waveforms, and Spectrograms to VS Code
AudioLens has launched a free, Apache-2.0 extension that lets speech and audio developers listen to recordings alongside per-channel waveforms and spectrograms in VS Code.
AudioLens provides separate channel tracks, synchronized waveform and spectrogram views, and mute/solo controls. A selected interval can be played; measured for RMS, sample peak, and clipping ratio; and exported as WAV. Spectrogram settings include FFT size, window function, and frequency scale.
For speech-data work, AudioLens can open PCM/RAW files with explicit format settings and RIFF/WAVE entries inside Kaldi archives. With VS Code Remote SSH, remote audio data is transferred to the local Webview for playback and visualization. These are inspection features; AudioLens does not transcribe speech or generate audio.
The extension is available for VS Code on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
