Comverse and Nuance Provide Voice Dialing Capability for AT&T Wireless

MENLO PARK, CA and WOODBURY, NY - AT&T Wireless subscribers are now able to dial #121 on their mobile phone, say the name of the person they want to reach, for example "call Mom at work," and be connected. This service is powered by Nuance (Nasdaq: NUAN), the speech software developer, and Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and a supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communications services. AT&T Wireless, the independently traded wireless carrier, announced the immediate availability of the Nuance-powered #121 VoiceDial service. Part of their portfolio of voice recognition services, #121 VoiceDial enables AT&T Wireless' customers to access and dial up to 2000 phone numbers via voice commands. Voice dialing eliminates the need to memorize phone numbers, or having to tote around an address book when on the go.
