Nuance Delivers Text-to-Speech Software Down Under

MENLO PARK, CA and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - Nuance (Nasdaq: NUAN) unveiled the Australian English version of its Nuance Vocalizer 2.0 text-to-speech (TTS) software. Nuance Vocalizer 2.0 converts written words into spoken ones, allowing companies to automate the delivery of dynamic, text-based information over the telephone for applications such as email reading, voice-activated dialing, product information lines, sales force automation, and automated directory assistance. Available in both a male and female voice, Nuance Vocalizer 2.0 for Australian English can cut the overall costs of developing voice-driven applications by reducing the need for recorded prompts by voice talents. Nuance's partner community, including Avaya, Dimension Data, Edify, Sound Advantage, VeCommerce and Viecore, will be able to sell and support the Australian English version of Nuance Vocalizer 2.0. "With Nuance Vocalizer 2.0, we now offer the highest quality speech recognition, voice authentication and text-to-speech product suite available on the Australian market," said Ron Croen, president, CEO and chairman, Nuance. "This will enable the numerous Nuance partners that have previously integrated Nuance speech technologies to easily offer complete, best-of-breed solutions to the Australian market."
