Loquendo ASR Now in Colombian Spanish

Loquendo launched its automatic speech recognition (ASR) in Colombian Spanish, meaning that Loquendo ASR is now available in 22 languages.

Loquendo text-to-speech (TTS) has been available in Colombian Spanish since 2006. With this release, Loquendo reinforces its positioning in the Latin American markets, where it offers voice technology for Mexican, Brazilian Portuguese, Argentinian, Chilean, and Colombian.

Loquendo ASR is speaker-independent speech recognition technology that accurately and reliably recognizes large-scale vocabulary continuous speech with specialized acoustic models both for telephony and for noisy environments such as mobile or in-car. With Loquendo ASR, the performance of speech-enabled services can be further improved by using Loquendo’s tools for collecting and automatically analyzing field data.

The latest version (ASR 7.7) offers many new features, including:

  • Continuous Recognition Mode, enabling the recognition of short, consecutive commands, so that the ASR engine is immediately ready for the next recognition event;
  • Feature Normalization, which improves recognition accuracy even when run-time operating conditions are different from those on which the ASR was trained; an improved; and
  • Confidence Score algorithm, which improves separation between in-grammar and out-of-grammar utterances, resulting in more robust dialogues.

Loquendo ASR is available in the following languages: U.S. English, U.K. English, Russian, Colombian, Argentinian, Chilean, Mexican and Castilian Spanish, Catalan, Valencian, Galician, French, Canadian French, Portuguese, Brazilian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, German, Greek, and Swedish as well as Mixed Language Castilian Spanish, and Catalan.
