Loquendo's VoxNauta Platform and Speech Engines Awarded VoiceXML 2.1 Certification

Loquendo’s VoxNauta Platform release 7.1, integrating the Loquendo ASR and Loquendo TTS engines, has been certified as interoperable with the VoiceXML 2.1 conformance suite by the VoiceXML Forum's Platform Certification Program. Loquendo also released new versions of its VoxNauta Platform with new features.

The certification of the VoxNauta platform follows rigorous conformance testing carried out by an independent laboratory on behalf of the VoiceXML Forum’s Platform Certification Program. As a result, Loquendo is one of the very first companies to have its voice platforms and speech technologies declared VoiceXML 2.1 compliant by the VoiceXML Forum. Loquendo technologies have been VoiceXML 2.0 compliant since 2005.

The VoiceXML 2.1 conformance suite covers testing for VoiceXML 2.0, SRGS 1.0, VoiceXML 2.1, and a small subset of SISR 1.0. The SRGS 1.0 portion of the suite tests support for both inline and external SRGS grammars.

Loquendo VoxNauta is a fully scalable platform for developing multilingual, multivoice IVR systems and speech-enabled services and applications that follow the VoiceXML 2.0 & 2.1 and CCXML 1.0 Web-based architectures and standards. It is available as a pure IVR or integrated with the Loquendo ASR and/or TTS engines, and, thanks to the fully modular architecture of Loquendo products, VoxNauta enables a seamless upgrade to new Loquendo voices and languages. VoxNauta powers the IVRs and speech-enabled applications of carriers, enterprises, and service providers worldwide. It offers a VoIP interface based on SIP/RTP protocols allowing simple integration with any IP network. Moreover, it's possible to interface VoxNauta with a PSTN/ISDN telephone network or with a PBX through any standard media gateway.

'"Loquendo has actively participated in the development of standards right from the outset, and was one of the first speech industry players to offer a voice platform fully compliant with W3C and IETF standards," says Daniele Sereno, Loquendo's vice president of product engineering. "In achieving VoiceXML 2.1 certification, the Loquendo VoxNauta platform, Loquendo ASR, and Loquendo TTS allow our customers to fully benefit from the advanced service features offered by the new standard, exploiting the full potential of speech technologies."

The Loquendo VoxNauta platform is available for both Windows and Linux, and enables access via traditional telephony or VoIP, as well as support for all major standards in speech: VoiceXML 2.0 & 2.1, CCXML 1.0, MRCP v2, SRGS 1.0, SISR 1.0, SSML 1.0 (and, shortly, PLS 1.0).

The latest releases of VoxNauta offer increased channel density and extended OS support, including additional Linux flavors. VoxNauta now supports the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008 Server Standard edition (32 and 64 bit); RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.0, 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 (32 and 64 bit); CentOS 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 (32 and 64 bit); Debian GNU/Linux 4.0; and SuSE 10 SP2.
