iSpeech Updates Its APIs and SDKs

iSpeech, a provider of speech and mobile applications, including the DriveSafe.ly app,. today announced that its development platform has been used more than 1.6 billion times in mobile apps made by more than 13,000 developers. The Newark, N.J.-based company also released updates to its Web API, iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry SDKs that provide faster performance and optimized speech recognition for Siri-like personal assistant applications and other popular speech recognition use cases.

"We will continue to work hard to eliminate all barriers to adoption of speech technology for developers, such as cost, quality, and difficulty of integration."

The platform, launched less than 10 months ago, is used by top brands and apps across lifestyle, food, travel, retail, finance, gaming, messaging, dictation, translation, and social. Customers include Hearst, Telenav, SpeaktoIt, iTranslate, and Vocre.

With iSpeech's cloud model, developers can integrate human-quality text-to-speech and speech recognition into their applications.

iSpeech voice recognition and text-to-speech is available in more than 25 language and accent combinations and accessible through both a self-serve platform and a direct sales and professional services team. Developers who work with iSpeech's sales and service team can leverage custom statistical language models designed for common use cases, such as virtual assistants, translation apps, navigation, e-learning and dictation, as well as custom language models designed specifically for the customer's application.
